Free Post: MVP Baseball 2005, the best baseball video game to ever be released

College can get quite boring, and it is definitely easy to run out of interesting things to do. My friends and I brought a hacked Wii console to college so we can get any old Game Cube game for free. While looking for new games to play, I stumbled upon “MVP Baseball 2005.” I had been searching for a new baseball game to play, and upon researching the game, it turned out that MVP Baseball 2005 was regarded as the best baseball video game of all-time. Given this info, I decided it was worth giving a shot.

Upon playing, it felt like I was transported to a new universe. The rosters were from the 2004 MLB regular season and it was like time traveling. The Red Sox had just won the World Series, the Yankees had Jeter, Rivera, Sheffield, A-Rod, and more. Ichiro was still young, Pujols just started, and Roger Clemens, Pedro Martinez, and Randy Johnson were the star pitchers.

The game played so smooth and was genuinely fun to play. After the MLB 2K series had been cancelled after 2K13, there had not been any good games available for Xbox released. MVP Baseball 2005 honestly felt like a step up from the 2K series. The graphics were ahead of their time, and the controls were so easy to figure out. There was a great franchise mode, an in-depth training mode, create-a-player and so much more to do.

Barry Bonds had refused to be in the game, but there was no way they could keep the best player in baseball out of the game, so they created “John Dowd.” An outfielder for the San Francisco Giants was just as good as Barry Bonds, except white and thin. He was the complete opposite of Barry Bonds in anyway relating to his appearance, but he was just as good.

MVP Baseball is regarded by many people and websites to be the best baseball game ever released. After playing many games including many versions of MLB The Show and MLB 2K, this game blows its counter-parts out the window when you take in consideration the age difference in the games. It definitely lived up to the hype, and I highly recommend playing it to any MLB fan who wants a refreshing baseball game and to take a trip through baseball past.
