Farewell Post

Well, this is it. Unfortunately this will be my last post. Although I did not have the most compelling articles or interesting pieces, I had a lot of fun writing about the MLB and I feel like I have been able to practice my writing skills through this blog. I truly love writing about the New York Yankees and Major League Baseball. Thanks to this blog, I have been able to work on the thing I am most passionate about.

It certainly was a tough beat to cover with the fact that I do not have many connections and I am not an MLB insider. Despite all of this, I was still able to put together a fairly half-decent blog and still been able to cover many interesting topics. I truly enjoyed covering MLB Free Agency, discussing trades, and more.

I have learned that is not easy being a professional sports journalist. Through Professor Enuco’s class, I have learned a lot more about the topic and what it is like to be an MLB beat writer. I have also learned how to cover these topics much better and more efficiently.

https://jamessports.game.blog/2018/10/07/yankees-go-1-1-at-fenway-park-thanks-t-o-big-performances-by-judge-and-sanchez/      This piece is one of my favorites because I was very excited about a Yankees win and I thought we had a good chance in the series following this win. Clearly my thinking was wrong.

https://jamessports.game.blog/2018/10/17/the-shift-is-not-what-is-killing-baseball-it-is-hitters-new-approach/     This was my most informative and in-depth piece. It gave a lot of insight into changes in the MLB and the direction it is heading.

https://jamessports.game.blog/2018/10/25/qa-with-justin-valletta/     This is one of my favorite posts because Justin is my favorite person to talk baseball with. He has been my best friend for more than ten years and baseball has always been our favorite topic.

https://jamessports.game.blog/2018/11/13/interview-with-patrick-hennessy-writer-and-creator-of-blog-unhinged-yankees/    This was a big interview for me because it was my first time talking with an insider and writer. It gave me a lot of insight on the job and what it is like.

https://jamessports.game.blog/2018/11/26/photo-gallery/    This post was the one I had the most fun with. It was very fun to go back to my old home field and soak in some of the nostalgia despite the poor field conditions.

I had so much fun writing this blog and it was truly an incredible learning experience for me. I have wanted to work in baseball for as long as I can remember. From wanting to go pro, to being an executive, to realizing my true potential as a writer. Thank you to everyone for reading my blog and I hope that you will see my work in the future. Justin and I intend to start our own baseball blog this winter, so be on the  look out for that.

Once again, thanks so much for reading.

Signing off,

James
